This is a reproduction of the first version MA-1 flight jacket, first introduced in the 1950s and adopted by the US Air Force as its official flight jacket. It's a rare find in today's market. This MA-1 flight jacket faithfully replicates the 1955 version (SPEC. MIL-J-8279), using custom-made fabric to authentically recreate the celadon color and durable nylon material typical of that era. Every detail is true to the original, right down to the size identification on the label, which corresponds to a different STOCK NO.
Nylon 66 was invented by DuPont Co. Nylon 66 is more flame resistant and durable compared to other nylon fibers. Bronson has studied the original Mil-Spec formula to replicate its yarn, density and weave. -
